Back in Tbilisi, German Ambassador Peter Fischer reappears at protest rally and restates his backing for radical group

Radical opposition supporter and artist Mamuka Tsutsqiridze reacted to the surprise appearance of German Ambassador Peter Fischer at yesterday’s protest rally, shortly after the Ambassador returned from Germany.

Tsutsqiridze says Fischer’s arrival and his renewed show of support for the demonstrators was a moment “that will never be forgotten.”

“I was just about to leave the rally. We had especially kept the police busy today with loud chants throughout Sololaki’s streets, when suddenly the German Ambassador, Mr. Peter Fischer arrived and once again expressed his solidarity”, Tsutsqiridze wrote.

“Of course, I thanked him deeply for his friendship toward Georgia and for standing by our side. A moment we will never forget!” he added.
