Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Tuesday confirmed that Ankara was coordinating closely with Georgian and Azerbaijani authorities after a Turkish military aircraft crashed near the Georgia-Azerbaijan border.
In his remarks, Erdoğan noted that the aircraft, which was en route from Azerbaijan to Turkey, went down near the border area and authorities were working hand-in-hand with their Georgian and Azerbaijani counterparts to locate the wreckage and manage the aftermath of the crash.
“With great sorrow, we learnt that our C-130 military aircraft, which was flying from Azerbaijan to Turkey, crashed today near the Georgia-Azerbaijan border. We continue the search for the wreckage of the downed aircraft in coordination with the national authorities”, Erdoğan said.
