Development of relations between Georgian and France was discussed on Thursday in a meeting between Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze and Olivier Courteaud, the newly appointed French Ambassador to the country.
Kaladze expressed readiness for “friendship and cooperation” and wished Courteaud success in fulfilling his diplomatic mission.
“I would like to convey the respect of the Georgian people, and my personal respect, to France and the French people. I wish you success in developing the relations between Georgia and France. We are ready for friendship and cooperation”, Kaladze said.
Courteaud also wished success to the newly elected Tbilisi Mayor and expressed hope that the development of Tbilisi would continue.
“I have the utmost respect for the Georgian culture, its history, and religion. The first thing I did upon arriving in Georgia was to visit Mtatsminda. This is an expression of my respect for the Georgian people. Tbilisi is beautiful and I hope it will become even more beautiful”, Courteaud said.
