Ahead of the European Political Community Summit, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić on Thursday expressed strong support for deeper ties between Serbia and Georgia, stating that the opinions of others matter little compared to serving their nations and people.
In his remarks, Vučić stressed that Serbia should increase the level of economic cooperation with Georgia.
“I have an excellent relationship with Georgia, with President [Mikheil] Kavelashvili, whom I recently met in New York. Yesterday I sat next to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and we had a good conversation. Today we will continue to discuss important issues. We have some Georgian initiatives that we need to study, analyse and respond to, but we also need to increase the level of our economic cooperation”, Vučić said.
He further noted that Serbia would always be ready to listen to everyone and hoped that the Georgian side would do the same.
“To be honest, I don't really care what some people say about us. Our job is to take care of the country and the people”, he concluded.
