David Bakradze, the Georgian Ambassador to the United Nations, on Monday said that as part of the upcoming UN high-level week, the President of Georgia would join world leaders in addressing the international community, highlighting the progress the country had achieved.
Bakradze made his remarks ahead of the upcoming participation of Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili in the ceremonial opening of the UN General Assembly debates in the United States.
“As part of the visit, the President of Georgia has also been invited to a reception hosted by the President of the United States. The Georgian President will hold a meeting with the UN Secretary-General, where the human rights situation in Georgia’s occupied regions will be discussed, along with the steps taken by the Georgian government to rebuild trust”, Bakradze said.
“Throughout the week, members of the Georgian delegation - including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Health - will also meet with their counterparts, participate in discussions, and address various events held on the margins of the UN sessions”, he concluded.
