Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday emphasised the strong political and economic partnership between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates during a high-level meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, describing the visit as a “day of special significance” for Georgia.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze expressed his gratitude for the visit and underscored his Government’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation across all sectors.
“I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your visit to Georgia. Today is a day of special significance for us. We are hosting a delegation from the United Arab Emirates led by the President for the first time, which is a great honour for us, and I would like to once again express my deepest gratitude for your visit to Georgia. Your visit to Georgia is an expression of your interest in our country, which we greatly appreciate, and we thank you deeply for this”, the PM said.
The Prime Minister further added that Georgia and the UAE were enjoying very good dynamics in their relations, characterised by close political and economic ties.
“We are interested in further deepening cooperation and partnership between our countries in all directions. We are also pleased that companies from your country are very actively represented in our country. There are four major companies operating successfully in Georgia, with all the conditions created for their economic activities”, he noted.
Kobakhidze highlighted the recently signed investment agreement with Eagle Hills and EMAAR as a significant step forward for economic collaboration.
“We are also pleased that, under your leadership, we signed a very important investment agreement that envisages economic activities in Georgia by Eagle Hills and EMAAR, and we thank you for your support. This is a very important initiative for us”, he continued.
The Prime Minister also mentioned the ongoing development of a dry port project in Tbilisi, describing it as an important initiative for Georgia’s future connectivity and trade potential.
“We also greatly value the cooperation related to the development of a dry port in Tbilisi, and we hope that such initiatives will increase in the future and that both political and economic cooperation between our countries will deepen further”, Kobakhidze noted.
“Your visit lays a solid foundation for our further productive cooperation in all directions. Once again, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your visit to Georgia. This day is of special significance for our country and for each of us”, he concluded.
