Over 40 countries, including Georgia, have jointly condemned the intrusion of Russian drones into Polish airspace and called on Moscow to halt further provocations, citing violations of international law and threats to civilian safety.
The joint statement was presented by Poland’s Secretary of State, Marcin Bosacki, ahead of an emergency UN Security Council meeting convened at Warsaw’s request.
“For the first time in its history, Poland has called for an urgent UN Security Council meeting to address this violation”, Bosacki said.
He described the intrusion as “yet another outrageous violation of international law and the UN Charter” by Russia amid its ongoing aggression against Ukraine.

The drones, Bosacki noted, “pose a real threat to civilian populations, infrastructure, and aviation safety”, and highlighted the unprecedented nature of such incursions into NATO and EU airspace since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in 2022.
He reiterated Poland’s demand that Russia cease its aggression, refrain from further provocations, and adhere to the principles of the UN Charter.
