Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Monday said it was fundamentally important for the Georgian Government to reboot its relations with the United States and start a new chapter.
In his remarks, Kaladze stressed that Georgia needed friends and partners.
“It is fundamentally important for us to start relations from a new page, to reboot them, because what was happening under the previous [US] administration was an absolutely unfair attitude. Every statement was filled with lies, falsehoods, and threats. We need friends, partners, and it will be very important that relations begin from a clean slate”, the ruling party official said.
“We support the Trump administration, and Trump personally. You know there were promises about defeating the deep state, ending the global war agenda, and bringing conflicts to a close. We will see how these promises are fulfilled”, Kaladze concluded.
