Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Tuesday said the key theme of the ongoing UN high-level conference held in Awaza was the connectivity among Central Asian countries, and in this context, Georgia’s participation in the event was of particular importance.
In her remarks, Botchorishvili noted that the Georgian Prime Minister would highlight the country’s regional role in terms of connectivity during the conference.
“The focus of this year’s UN high-level conference is the connectivity in Central Asia. Georgia’s participation in this context is very important. The country will be represented at the level of the Prime Minister, with the main emphasis placed on Georgia’s regional role in advancing connectivity”, the FM said.
She further highlighted that this was crucial not only for Central Asia but also in the broader context of developing the Middle Corridor - “a direction that Georgia is paying special attention to”.
“The conference is a valuable opportunity to emphasise Georgia’s role and to present the country as an integral part of the Middle Corridor”, Botchorishvili concluded.
