The existing relations and future prospects for cooperation between Georgia and Uzbekistan were discussed on Tuesday in a meeting between the Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and the visiting Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.
During the official meeting, the two sides reviewed the friendly and trust-based relations between Georgia and Uzbekistan.
Kavelashvili expressed gratitude to Saidov for Uzbekistan’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“Given the close political and economic relations, Georgia views Uzbekistan not only as an important and reliable partner but also as a friendly state. We are ready to deepen bilateral cooperation in political, economic, and cultural directions and to contribute to better utilising the potential of the South Caucasus and Central Asia regions, as well as creating greater prosperity for our countries”, Kavelashvili said.
The President further reaffirmed that Georgia considers Uzbekistan a key partner and expressed a strong interest in fostering investment opportunities.
