The existing partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan and security matters in the South Caucasus region were discussed on Friday in a meeting between the Georgian Interior Minister Geka Geladze and his Azerbaijani counterpart Vilayat Eyvazov.
The meeting focused on strengthening the existing partnership and exploring opportunities for a deeper cooperation between the two nations.
Discussions also addressed regional security, joint efforts to combat organised crime, and the enlargement of the police attaché institution.
Geladze expressed his appreciation for the productive collaboration and formally invited Eyvazov to visit Georgia.
As part of the official visit, the Georgian delegation also honoured the memory of Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev and his wife Zarifa Aliyeva.
