Economic growth dynamics and ongoing structural reforms were discussed on Tuesday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and key representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), including Alejandro Hajdenberg, Head of the IMF Mission, Jeroen Kremers, IMF Executive Director and Andrew Jewell, the IMF’s Resident Representative in Georgia.
The meeting focused on Georgia’s macroeconomic stability, economic growth dynamics, and the role of the IMF in supporting the Government’s ongoing structural reforms.
Kobakhidze highlighted the reform of state-owned enterprise management as a priority aligned with IMF recommendations.
The discussion also addressed progress in diversifying markets, enhancing regional trade connections, developing the capital market, and strengthening energy security.
Kobakhidze reaffirmed the Government's appreciation for its strong relationship with the IMF and noted that the Fund’s economic forecasts are in line with Georgia’s own projections.
The IMF representatives, visiting as part of the regular “Article IV Consultation” mission, expressed their readiness to continue close cooperation with the Georgian Government and to support the country’s reform agenda moving forward.
