Georgia opened its first Honorary Consulate in Hungary, located in the southern city of Szeged.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Georgia’s Ambassador to Hungary, Tamar Liluashvili, alongside representatives from Szeged City Hall and Hungary’s Department of Foreign Affairs.
Shabtai Michaeli, a seasoned professional with a background in business, was appointed as Georgia’s first Honorary Consul in the country.
As the Georgian Embassy noted, the new consulate will play a key role in fostering cooperation between Georgia and Hungary across various sectors, including economy, trade, business, and culture.
