Levan Davitashvili, the First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, on Thursday shared his assessment of his recent visit to the United States, emphasising a strong alignment with the new US administration on numerous issues.
In his interview with Imedi TV, Davitashvili noted there were no specific concerns or preconditions directed at the Georgian Government.
Instead, he highlighted the prospects of a respectful and cooperative relationship between the two countries.
“The new US administration respects the sovereign rights and decisions of all countries, including Georgia. This is a clear message from the White House and the new administration”, the Minister said.
“There is a shared expectation that our cooperation will be constructive and result in tangible, measurable outcomes. This aligns with both Georgian and American interests”, he continued.
Davitashvili also cautioned that such processes were long-term and were not yielding immediate, significant decisions.
Despite what he described as “much speculation”, Davitashvili assessed the ongoing dialogue as highly positive, noting a convergence of positions with the new administration across numerous issues.
“We have a consistent policy, and we clearly express our willingness and interest in cooperating with the US. We want this cooperation to be more productive and tangible”, he concluded.
