Strong friendly relations and prospects for deepening partnership between Georgia and Armenia were discussed on Tuesday in a meeting between the Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, who is on an official visit to Armenia, and his Armenian counterpart Vahagn Khachaturyan.
The meeting focused on the expansion of bilateral cooperation in different directions, the Presidential Administration said.
The officials further discussed political development in Georgia and Armenia as well as the importance of regional peace and stability.
Kavelashvili extended his gratitude to Khachaturyan for supporting Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The Georgian President noted that the recent trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministries of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan held in Tbilisi, once again clearly confirmed the country’s readiness to promote dialogue, peace and stability in the South Caucasus region.
Kavelashvili hoped that in the future, the work in this format would continue.
