Levan Davitashvili, the First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, engaged in discussions with Joshua Huck, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, as part of his visit to Washington, focusing on the promising agenda for political and economic cooperation between the two nations.
In his remarks, Davitashvili noted that the Georgian Government was sharing a complete alignment on fundamental issues with the new US administration.
“We discussed political prospects and emphasised that there is complete alignment between the Georgian Government and the new US administration on key issues. This shared vision and ideological alignment will help us shape a constructive and promising cooperation agenda”, the First Vice PM said.
He further highlighted very interesting and productive meetings at the United States Department of Commerce and the Treasury Department.
“We had very productive discussions with all three institutions, focusing on the prospects of cooperation and joint future plans requiring active engagement from both sides. We covered a wide range of topics, including trade promotion and new initiatives, Georgia's macroeconomic framework, financing matters, as well as America's involvement in international financial institutions and the reform agenda that we have”, Davitashvili continued.
He further added that the discussions also focused on the existing cooperation in terms of sanctions enforcement as well as future plans, which he believed would be beneficial for both countries.
