Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Wednesday responded to reports of Latvia entering the top five largest buyers of Russian vodka. In her assessment, this fact once again demonstrates the double standards applied in the criticism of Georgia.
Botchorishvili’s comments came after the data from national statistical agencies and the UN Comtrade platform showed that Latvia entered the top five largest buyers of Russian vodka.
“These countries stand out for their double standards towards Georgia. What we often hear is criticism directed at Georgia, while we see that they are actively involved in trade relations with Russia. This once again clearly demonstrates how biased they are and how the criticism of Georgia is based on double standards”, the Georgian FM said.
“They absolutely do not respect the choice of the Georgian people, nor do they respect democracy in Georgia or the sovereignty of the Georgian state”, she concluded.
