Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Monday addressed an audience at the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy, engaging in a question-and-answer session on various pressing issues.
During the meeting, Botchorishvili emphasised Georgia's commitment to supporting a policy of peace in the South Caucasus region.
“The South Caucasus is a very sensitive region in terms of security. We have many challenges. We are always ready to contribute to any cooperation in the region. It is important to maintain sustainable peace and stability in order to achieve our goal: to transform the South Caucasus into a region of connectivity”, the Minister said.
The Foreign Minister also addressed Georgia’s future relations with the new US administration.
“We want this to be more than just a name - we seek a meaningful strategic partnership across various sectors, including economic cooperation, people-to-people connections, and other areas of collaboration. Georgia is prepared to work towards strengthening this partnership because the US is a key player, including in our region. We are hopeful that the shared interests we have will help us make this relationship truly strategic, as its name suggests”, she concluded.
