Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday highlighted the importance of enhancing Georgia’s role within the Middle Corridor framework, emphasising that cooperation with Turkmenistan was of particular significance in achieving this goal.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze highlighted that Turkmenistan’s role in this initiative was crucial, as both countries were seeking to boost connectivity and economic exchange.
“Turkmenistan is a very important country for us, with which we share close and positive political cooperation. Today, we discussed economic cooperation, and in this regard, there is a great deal of room for further development”, Kobakhidze said.
The PM underlined the strategic importance of the Middle Corridor for Georgia’s economic and geopolitical development, noting that discussions during his visit focused on strengthening economic cooperation with Turkmenistan, a key partner in the region.
“One of Georgia’s main goals is to strengthen its role in the Middle Corridor, and cooperation with Turkmenistan is particularly important in this respect. We had discussions on very specific issues related to the development of economic cooperation. Our ministers also discussed specific topics, and several important agreements were signed”, the PM noted.
“I had a very interesting and positive meeting with the President [Serdar Berdimuhamedov], during which we reviewed all aspects of our cooperation”, he concluded.
