Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Sunday said the United States President Donald Trump was “very determined” to end the ongoing war in Ukraine “as quickly as possible”, stressing that “this is also in the interest of the Ukrainian people”.
In her interview with Imedi TV, Botchorishvili noted there would be “interesting developments” in the coming weeks regarding the war in Ukraine.
“Regarding support, it might be more accurate to ask how different people perceive support for Ukraine. For some, it means more weapons and more conflict, while for others, it signifies peace and support for the peace process”, the top Georgian diplomat said.
“How the war will end is, of course, the responsibility of both the President of Ukraine, first of all, the President of a country at war, and those people who somehow encourage and support the continuation of hostilities”, she continued.
The MInister further added that “supporting Ukraine means supporting peace”.
“Today, the United States made this distinction - supporting Ukraine means supporting peace, and today there is already an equality sign here. So, the positioning of the Georgian side over the past three years is completely consistent with what we hear from the United States today”, she concluded.
