Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Wednesday said Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Georgia were involved in the development of quite important projects that were providing an opportunity to establish peace in the wider region.
In his remarks following a meeting with the visiting Georgian counterpart Maka Botchorishvili, Fidan highlighted the high strategic function of these projects.
“For a long time, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia have been involved in the development of quite important projects, which have a fairly high strategic function. The Minister [Botchorishvili] has already noted that the involvement of all three countries in the development of these projects is of paramount importance, and all this, of course, will ultimately give us the opportunity to establish peace in the [wider] region. Especially, if we take the opportunities of the Caspian Sea in the development of both European and global markets”, the Turkish FM said.
He further highlighted the great importance of the potential of the Black Sea region.
“We already have exemplary relations with three countries - Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan, and this can be considered an exemplary model for other countries”, he concluded.
