Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Tuesday reiterated the Georgian Government’s “unwavering support” for Ukraine, emphasising its sovereignty and territorial integrity amid the ongoing war.
In her remarks, Botchorishvili noted it was “crucial” to exert maximum effort to eliminate all threats that jeopardise European security.
“We have repeatedly stated and will say it again: Georgia sincerely supports Ukraine’s sovereignty, its territorial integrity, and we are deeply troubled by the aggression that Ukraine has been enduring for the past three years”, the Foreign Minister said.
The Minister stressed that peace was the only viable choice, as it was ensuring the future development of Europe and fostering both economic and political cooperation.
“It is important to take steps towards peace, to seek peace, and not to further exacerbate the conflict and the situation, which unfortunately exists in our friendly country - Ukraine”, she concluded.
