Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Tuesday said the recent steps taken in Washington and the statements made by the US administration regarding foreign funding were a continuation or recognition of the concerns that the Georgian Government had long been voicing.
Botchorishvili’s comments followed after the decision made by the United States administration to halt foreign aid funding.
In her remarks, the Minister noted that the decision of the US Government was related to foreign funding, including whether donor funds were used correctly or incorrectly in the internal politics of various countries.
“We, of course, were talking about our own country, the negative role that various donors were playing in Georgia, and today we can see that the same issues are actively discussed in Washington, and not just discussions, but the adoption of specific decisions”, the FM concluded.
