Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Wednesday commented on the resolution initiated by the US Congressman Joe Wilson and recent criticism of Georgia, saying Wilson was an interested party and that the motives behind his actions are clear.
Kavelashvili’s comments came after the Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions Committee of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly approved a draft resolution on Georgia initiated by Joe Wilson.
“Our parliamentary delegation has given an appropriate response. On a daily basis, members of our parliament provide accurate observations and objective assessments of his statements. To me, the actions of a single congressman who is an interested party are plain to see, and what stands behind him is also obvious to any citizen”, he noted.
“Therefore, we should pay as little attention as possible to assessments made by such individuals”, Kavelashvili said.
