Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Tuesday said that high-level meetings held in Kazakhstan placed particular emphasis on deepening cooperation within the framework of the Georgia-Kazakhstan strategic partnership, as well as on priority areas of cooperation.
In her remarks, Botchorishvili noted that one of the main topics of the talks was the development of the Middle Corridor, which she said was of strategic importance to both Georgia and Kazakhstan.
“The priority, of course, is the development of the Middle Corridor. Kazakhstan has a strong interest in cooperating with Georgia in this direction. Naturally, we also have a strong interest in developing cooperation with Kazakhstan in the context of the Middle Corridor”, she said.
Botchorishvili said the visit once again confirmed the close partnership between Georgia and Kazakhstan and both countries’ readiness to deepen cooperation in strategically important areas that would contribute to regional connectivity, economic development and greater prosperity.
“We discussed the existing potential to further develop trade and economic relations, business ties, people-to-people contacts, cooperation in the field of culture, and cooperation across various sectors between our two countries, which will benefit both our nations and the region as a whole”, Botchorishvili concluded.
