The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia on Saturday announced that Qatar Airways launched regular cargo operations in Georgia, completing its first scheduled freight flight to Tbilisi.
The Ministry noted that the airline has begun operating cargo services under a permit issued by the Civil Aviation Agency.
Qatar Airways will operate a weekly cargo service on the Doha-Yerevan-Tbilisi-Doha route.
Flights will be carried out using Boeing 777 freighter aircraft and will provide cargo transportation services between Georgia and the State of Qatar.
“According to statistics, Georgia’s air cargo market has grown significantly in recent years. In 2025, the volume of cargo transported by air reached 38,578 tons, marking an all-time record in the history of Georgia’s airports. Compared to 2024, cargo turnover increased by 50% in 2025, while compared to 2023, it improved by 101%, meaning that the market volume has doubled in just two years”, the Ministry stated.
