Georgian Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili on Thursday stated that Georgia stands out as an economic growth leader, both within the region and compared to European Union member states.
Her remarks followed the International Monetary Fund’s latest report, which upgraded Georgia's 2026 economic growth forecast to 6.5%, up from its April projection.
Kvrivishvili noted that the revised forecast reflects growing international confidence in Georgia, with global financial institutions consistently giving positive assessments of the country's economic performance.
The Minister emphasized that the Georgian government implements key sectoral reforms annually, maintains close cooperation with the private sector, and actively works to attract investment - efforts that drive the country's positive economic dynamics.
“It is no coincidence that our country stands out as a leader in the region and compared to EU member states; this is a direct result of these targeted policies”, she said.
“I am confident that 2026 will be another successful year, delivering strong economic growth by year-end. We expect to see even more tangible results - most importantly, a visible improvement in the well-being and prosperity of our population”, Kvrivishvili concluded.
