Georgia’s real gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.2% in April 2026 compared to the same period last year, according to preliminary estimates released by the National Statistics Office of Georgia.
With this latest monthly figure, the average real GDP growth rate for the first four months of 2026 stands at 8.3%.
According to the Office, several sectors of the economy significantly contributed to the year-over-year growth in April 2026. The primary drivers of this economic expansion include: manufacturing, information and communication, transportation and storage, trade, financial and insurance activities.
In contrast, the positive momentum was partially offset by downturns in other areas of the economy. A downward trend was recorded in the following sectors: construction, mining and quarrying.
