Productive cooperation between the Georgian government and the Asian Development Bank was discussed on Friday in a meeting between the Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Masato Kanda, the president of the Asian Development Bank.
The meeting focused on the importance of the Asian Development Bank’s support, noting that it was one of Georgia’s most reliable partners.
The officials reviewed the Asian Development Bank’s investment portfolio in the country.
The meeting noted that ADB’s investments in both the public and private sectors exceed $5 billion, funding programs aimed at developing tourism infrastructure, water supply, transport connectivity, energy, and the regional and municipal sectors.
The officials also noted that the opening of the Asian Development Bank’s new office in Tbilisi was another clear confirmation of the long-term partnership between Georgia and the Bank.
