The International credit rating agency Fitch reaffirmed Georgia’s sovereign rating at BB and upgraded the country’s outlook from “negative” to “stable”, citing strengthened reserves, increased tourism and remittance inflows, and reduced external vulnerabilities.
According to the updated report, Georgia has demonstrated notable resilience and progress in several core economic areas.
Fitch emphasised that Georgia’s economic development level exceeded that of other countries with similar sovereign ratings.
The agency forecasted economic growth of more than 5% annually for 2025–2027, supported by productivity growth.
Public finances were described as stable, with falling budget deficit and debt ratios, and long-term debt dynamics remaining sustainable.
The report adds that the Georgian banking sector remained robust – maintaining profitability, high capitalisation, and stable asset quality.
