Georgia’s economy grew by 7.7% in the first three quarters of 2025, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday announced during a Government session.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze emphasised that sustaining economic growth remains one of the top priorities of his Government.
“Based on data from January to September, economic growth reached 7.7%. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) had raised its forecast to 7.2%, but these figures indicate that Georgia is likely to exceed even that projection. Maintaining this growth rate is crucial on multiple fronts”, the PM said.
“Maintaining this pace is important in every respect. Naturally, economic growth also allows for a stable exchange rate. We are pleased that this year foreign currency reserves have already increased to₾18.6 billion ($5.6 billion), which is a record level”, he continued.
Kobakhidze highlighted that economic growth also supports the stability of the national currency and thanked the National Bank and its President for their work.
“Naturally, the strength of the currency is a result of maintaining a stable pace of economic growth. I want to emphasise the importance of economic growth and maintaining these rates. We have new initiatives that will benefit future economic development. We also have a new large-scale investment that is already moving into the implementation stage, which will, of course, contribute to economic growth. Maximum attention must continue to be paid to the economy, and this will remain one of the main priorities of our Government’s activities”, he concluded.
