Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday congratulated Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on reaching the UEFA Champions League final for the second year in a row.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze noted that Kvaratskhelia had made a particularly significant contribution to his team’s success in reaching the final.
“I would like to congratulate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on reaching the Champions League final for the second consecutive time. It should be especially noted that his contribution was the most significant in securing a place in the final, which makes us especially happy and is a particular source of pride for us”, he said.
Paris Saint-Germain defeated Bayern Munich 6–5 on aggregate in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League, securing their place in the final.
In the first leg, Kvaratskhelia scored two goals, helping PSG secure a dramatic 5-4 victory in a high-scoring encounter. In the second leg, he provided an assist for an early goal, immediately putting Bayern under pressure and shifting the momentum in PSG’s favour.
