Georgia stuns defending champions Spain at EuroBasket

The Georgian national basketball team delivered a major upset at EuroBasket, defeating reigning champions Spain 83:69. The game took place in Limassol, Cyprus.

Just minutes before tip-off, it was confirmed that Georgia’s captain, Tornike Shengelia, would take part in the match.

Shengelia had missed much of the team’s preparation due to heart-related health concerns, making his return especially significant.

This marks Georgia’s sixth consecutive appearance at EuroBasket.

The team will face Italy in its next matchup on Saturday.
