“You have set the bar so high that it will be difficult for Romania to match” - EOC President summarises Bakuriani 2025

Spyros Capralos, the President of the European Olympic Committees, on Monday praised the success of the European Youth Olympic Festival held in Georgia's winter resort of Bakuriani.

In his remarks, Capralos highlighted the organisers' crucial role in ensuring the success of the event.

“We are very happy and fortunate to have Mamuka Khabareli and other organisers, volunteers who brightened the lives of all participants in the festival. We spent a whole week in Georgia, seven impressive days, and we are happy - we, the delegations - that such a fantastic competition was held. The conditions were perfect - that is what I can say. You have set the bar so high with this Olympic event that it will be difficult for Romania to host the festival at the same level!” Capralos said.

Bakuriani 2025 officially opened on February 9. During the closing ceremony on Sunday, the Olympic flag was handed over to Romania, the next host nation. The European Youth Olympic Festival will take place in Brașov in 2027.
