Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday expressed appreciation toward specific retail networks for taking steps to reduce prices.
Looking ahead to the medium-term outlook, Kobakhidze noted that a parliamentary commission has identified structural issues within the system, adding that addressing these problems would shorten supply chains, which in turn would have a direct impact on lowering prices.
“First of all, I would like to thank specific retail chains for taking concrete steps toward lowering prices, which is very important. In terms of the medium-term perspective, the parliamentary commission has identified structural problems, and if we overcome them, the supply chain will be shortened, which will directly lead to lower prices. This will require work, and in the medium-term perspective, it will also deliver results”, he said.
