Imedi TV questions German Embassy in Tbilisi over outdated Georgia leadership details

Imedi TV has formally reached out to the German embassy in Tbilisi, seeking clarification on why the official website of the German federal foreign office continues to display outdated information regarding Georgia’s leadership.
In a formal inquiry, the broadcaster pointed out that the data on the German ministry's website has not been updated since 2024. Specifically, the site still lists Salome Zourabichvili as the president of Georgia and Ilia Darchiashvili as the minister of foreign affairs, despite recent changes in the country’s administration.
“Information about Georgia on your ministry of foreign affairs’ official website has not been updated since 2024”, the letter from Imedi TV states. “In Georgia's case, it is still indicated that the president is Salome Zourabichvili and the foreign minister is Ilia Darchiashvili”.
The broadcaster further noted that the ministry of foreign affairs of Georgia has contacted their German counterparts on multiple occasions regarding this issue, yet the records remain uncorrected.
The inquiry highlights several key questions directed at the embassy: Can the Embassy explain the reason behind the failure to update this official information? Is the Embassy providing the German government with current, updated information regarding Georgia's political leadership?
Previously, a member of the Georgian Parliament Irakli Shatakishvili addressed a parliamentary inquiry to the minister of foreign affairs of Georgia. The response from Maka Botchorishvili reveals that a diplomatic note has already been sent to the German federal foreign office. All of this comes at a time when the German foreign ministry has updated its data for other countries, such as Russia and Syria.
