Georgian Parliament speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Tuesday said it was important for everyone to stand together and pray for the Georgian Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II.
Papuashvili noted that all necessary measures were being taken to improve the Patriarch’s health condition.
“Right now, it is important that we all stand together and pray for him. A medical council has been held, and discussions are ongoing regarding the steps that need to be taken. The state, the Ministry of Health, and every doctor are doing everything possible to ensure that medical intervention leads to an improvement in his health”, the speaker said.
Due to health complications, Ilia II is currently under medical supervision at the Caucasus Medical Center. His condition worsened overnight.
