US Chargé d’Affaires, Patriarchal Locum Tenens discuss friendship, Church’s role in Georgian history, culture

Friendship between Georgia and the United States as well as the Church’s role in Georgian history and culture were discussed on Wednesday in an audience between Alan Purcell, the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Tbilisi, and Patriarchal Locum Tenens Metropolitan Shio Mujiri and other hierarchs and clergy at the Patriarchate.

Purcell expressed pride that the United States contributed to preserving historical Georgian churches and artifacts throughout the country.
