The Chandler Institute has published its long-term vision rankings as part of its 2025 Good Governance Report.
Georgia was ranked 29th among the world’s top thirty and 19th among Europe’s top twenty for its private-sector-supportive governance.
The Regulatory Governance indicator measures a government’s ability to develop and implement sound policies and regulations that enable and promote private sector development, based on data from the World Bank’s Worldwide Governance Indicators project.
According to the report, Georgia outperformed all EU candidate countries and 15 EU and NATO member states, including Italy, Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, Poland, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Malta, Cyprus, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Turkey.
Georgia’s ranking was based on assessments from seven international evaluator organisations and projects: the Bertelsmann Transformation Index, Economist Intelligence Unit, Heritage Foundation’s Index of Economic Freedom, Standard & Poor’s, the World Bank’s Enterprise Surveys, the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report, and the World Justice Project.
