Air Serbia commences direct regular flights between Belgrade and Tbilisi starting June 15, operating three times a week using an Airbus A319.
The inaugural flight from Belgrade to Tbilisi International Airport landed earlier today and included a high-level delegation led by Jagoda Lazarević, Serbia’s Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade.
Upon arrival, Lazarević was welcomed at the governmental terminal by Alexandre Khvtisiashvili, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia, Levan Moseshvili, Director General of United Airports of Georgia, and Tatjana Panajotović Cvetković, Serbia’s Ambassador to Georgia and Armenia.
Moseshvili emphasised that there had never been direct regular flights between Georgia and Serbia until now.
Air Serbia is the successor to the first Serbian national airline, Aeroput, which was founded in 1927.
In 2024, the total passenger flow between Georgia and Serbia amounted to 16,839 passengers, representing a 66% increase compared to the data from 2023.
