As part of the visit to Rome, the Georgian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgi Zurabashvili and Georgia’s Police Attaché to Italy Vladimir Bortsvadze held a meeting at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of Italy to discuss the mutual recognition of driving licenses.
The meeting underscored the importance of the matter, which would allow Georgian citizens residing in Italy to exchange their Georgian driving licenses for Italian ones without the need to pass a driving test.
The parties also discussed the substantive details of the agreement and expressed hope that the signing of the document would be possible following the swift completion of the necessary procedures, with the Italian side reaffirming its full readiness to cooperate.
Georgia has already signed a similar agreement with Spain, Greece and Ireland.
