Media targeted at Europe Day event in Tbilisi, Imedi TV crew hindered

A celebration of Europe Day turned into a scene of confrontation, as members of the media became targets of verbal attacks and obstruction.

Imedi TV reported being deliberately hindered while carrying out their professional duties.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident unfolded while an Imedi journalist was conducting an interview.

The opposition politician Elene Khoshtaria approached the crew, disrupted the interview, and prevented the respondent from speaking.

In a heated exchange, Khoshtaria labeled the journalist a “Russian”, prompting a sharp retort from the Imedi correspondent, who reminded her that she herself receives funding from Russia.

Following Khoshtaria's actions, Tamar Chergoleishvili also became involved in the confrontation, joined by others present at the event who appeared to support the disruption.
