The Gldani district administration in the capital city of Tbilisi is carrying out extensive roadworks in the Mukhiani summer cottage area, specifically on Borjomi, Nekresi, Daisi, Vani, Boriti, and Khvanchkara streets. A total of approximately 26,600 square meters will be upgraded across all six streets.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, accompanied by Deputy Mayors Irakli Bendeliani and Kakha Guledani, visited the ongoing works on Borjomi Street, Tbilisi City Hall said.
“An infrastructure project is underway in the Mukhiani summer cottage area. This is a settlement where there was no communication whatsoever - neither a stormwater drainage system nor a sewage system. The entire area was completely neglected. Talking about a proper road was pointless. The situation was so difficult that even public transport couldn't operate. We have gradually started to improve all the streets, and underground communications have also been installed. As of today, infrastructure works are ongoing on seven streets, carried out by the Gldani district administration. We aim to complete the project by May, after which public transport will be able to serve the residents living on these streets”, Kaladze said.
A total of ₾5,000,000 has been allocated from the local budget for the roadwork. Additionally, a 850-meter-long sewage network is being installed on Racha Street, with a budget of ₾564,000.
Besik Kaladze, the head of the Gldani district, and parliamentary delegate Vladimir Bozhadze were also present at the site alongside the Mayor of Tbilisi.
