Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Friday extended his congratulations to Azerbaijani fellow citizens on the occasion of Novruz Bayram.
“Novruz Bayram is an important day for our society, not only because of its cultural traditions, but also because this holiday unites representatives of different nations and religions. Today, in Marneuli, we all celebrate Novruz Bayram, the day of spring and renewal, together. Let us live in a peaceful, united, and strong Georgia”, the Parliament Speaker said.
The event in Marneuli also featured speeches from Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, President Mikheil Kavelashvili, and State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Tea Akhvlediani.
As part of the celebrations, the Parliament Speaker attended festive events, visited an exhibition space, and explored an Azerbaijani ethnic corner. Marneuli also hosted a series of cultural and sporting activities in honour of Novruz Bayram.
Novruz Bayram, celebrated by many communities across the world, symbolises renewal, harmony, and the arrival of spring.
In Georgia, the holiday is particularly significant for Azerbaijani communities residing in regions such as Marneuli, where festive events include traditional music, dance, and cultural performances.
