President of European Olympic Committees thanks organising committee of Bakuriani 2025 for hard work, dedication

Spyros Capralos, the President of the European Olympic Committees, on Sunday expressed his gratitude for the warm reception in Georgia's winter resort of Bakuriani during the opening ceremony of the 17th edition of the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival.

Capralos wished success to the athletes and thanked the organising committee of the Bakuriani 2025 for their hard work and dedication.

“Following the success of the 13th edition of the European Youth Summer Olympic Festival held in Tbilisi 10 years ago, we have always believed that Georgia will once again host an outstanding event for the young athletes of our continent. I can already feel the vibrant spirit of the festival here. We have witnessed an incredible opening performance and the parade of athletes from 45 participating nations, adding to the excitement before the competitions begin”, the official said.

He further stressed that the European Youth Olympic Festivals were playing a crucial role in the European Olympic Movement, as for many young athletes, it was their first international multi-disciplinary competition, giving them the opportunity to showcase their talents and compete against Europe’s best.

“I wish all athletes great success in their competitions. I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to the Bakuriani 2025 organizing committee for their tireless work in making this event a success. Lastly, a special thank you to our volunteers for their dedication and warm smiles, which always make us feel at home”, Capralos concluded.
