The company Procter & Gamble, which has recently ended its cooperation with Georgian broadcaster Imedi TV, was included by Ukraine in 2023 in its international list of “sponsors of war” due to its continued business operations in Russia.
According to the list, Ukraine cited the company’s decision not to fully withdraw from the Russian market following the start of the war as the basis for its designation.
Procter & Gamble is considered one of the major long-term investors in the Russian consumer goods sector and has been operating in the country since 1991.
After the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the company suspended certain operations in Russia, but it continues to maintain a presence there. It reportedly operates two manufacturing facilities in the country and continues to supply products to the local market.
One of Procter & Gamble’s production sites is located in Saint Petersburg, while the other is based in the Tula region.
