Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Thursday commented on the joint statement by US Senators Jim Risch and Jeanne Shaheen to the US presidential administration regarding deteriorating political situation in Georgia, stating that the senators were “under the influence of the global war party”.
In his remarks, Kaladze emphasised that the Georgian Government’s message was a readiness to reboot relations with the United States.
“These individuals are also under the influence of the global war party. We have stated many times, and I will reiterate that we support President Trump in defeating the deep state. How much he will succeed, we shall see. At the same time, we are ready to start relations anew”, he said.
“This is our message, our attitude, and our desire: to reboot relations in order to enable friendship and partnership, and, of course, this must be mutual, not one-sided”, the Mayor concluded.
