Kakha Kaladze, Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Monday emphasised the country's positive economic trends, saying that was the result of the policies pursued by the ruling team.
Kaladze responded to the journalist’s question regarding recent data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), which showed that local exports increased by 60.3% in January - September of 2026.
In his remarks, Kaladze noted that the ruling team was committed to preserving peace in the country, which in turn fostered further progress and was reflected in the economy.
“In general, we are seeing a very positive trend in economic development. Over the last few years, the country has been developing, the economy has been growing, and local businesses have been advancing. This is highly significant. Do not assume this is a coincidence. You can all clearly see what is happening around us, in Europe, the Middle East, and the world at large and how complex and tense the political situation is. The fact that Georgia is developing and moving forward economically today is made possible by the policies implemented by Georgian Dream [party]”, the Sec Gen said.
“Despite facing numerous insults, unfair treatment, threats, and slander, we have maintained a firm, principled stance - we are committed to preserving peace, which in turn fosters further progress. Ultimately, all of this is reflected in the economy. We will certainly continue to pursue economic development so that every single citizen of our country can personally experience prosperity”, he concluded.
