International partnerships, alongside regional cooperation, play a vital role in translating nature conservation commitments into tangible results, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said on Friday.
Addressing the COP17 Leaders’ Summit in Yerevan, the Prime Minister emphasised that strengthening international cooperation, mobilising resources and sharing expertise are essential to ensuring effective and sustainable biodiversity conservation.
“As 2030 approaches, our foremost priority must be to translate global biodiversity commitments into concrete, long-term results. This summit provides an important opportunity to reaffirm our collective commitment to achieving the goals of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and to inject fresh momentum into its implementation”, he said.
“Georgia remains committed to working with international partners to protect biodiversity, strengthen conservation efforts and ensure that the preservation of our natural environment contributes to the well-being of future generations”, Kobakhidze concluded.
