Georgian Parliament official stresses importance of providing OSCE with accurate picture of Georgia

Davit Matikashvili, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules, said on Friday that the Georgian government remained open to dialogue, particularly with senior OSCE officials, with whom it maintains regular communication.

Matikashvili stressed the importance of ensuring that OSCE officials had an accurate understanding of developments in Georgia.

“Certain forces are trying to portray the situation in Georgia differently by distorting information. It is important for us to provide them with an accurate picture of the political situation”, he said.

Ignazio Cassis, Switzerland’s Foreign Minister and the current OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, is visiting Georgia on Friday.
